“Do not undervalue attention.
It means interest and also love.
To know, to do, to discover, or to create you must give your heart to it – which means attention.
All the blessings flow from it.”

The main focus of my research at the Department for Psychotherapy of the University Psychiatry Hospital of Bern was the assessment of mindfulness with self-report measures. In the context of this work we developed a new measure for the assessment of mindfulness, the Comprehensive Inventory of Mindfulness Experiences (CHIME; Bergomi, Tschacher & Kupper, 2014). My research also focused on embodiment, the relationship between mindfulness and mental health, and the evaluation of mindfulness based interventions in adults and children, as well as on the perceptual coordination in patients with schizophrenia spectrum disorders.
As far as I know, the Comprehensive Inventory of Mindfulness Experiences (CHIME) is available in the following languages:
- German (original version): Please feel free to use it in your research, clinical or other work: donwload pdf doc
- English version of the CHIME: Wilkinson, S., Ribeiro, L., Krägeloh, C.U. et al. Validation of the Comprehensive Inventory of Mindfulness Experiences (CHIME) in English Using Rasch Methodology. Mindfulness (2023).
- An English version of the CHIME for adolescents is also available: Johnson, C., Burke, C., Brinkman, S., & Wade, T. (2017).
